We are very happy and honored that SiteGround has been listed as a recommended WordPress hosting provider on the WordPress.org hosting page. We perceive this as a high evaluation of the quality of our hosting product and work with the WordPress community.
How did that happen?
Last year Matt Mullenweg, the founding developer of WordPress, reached out to hosting companies letting us know that they were looking to revise wordpress.org/hosting with a new list of the best hosts for WordPress sites. To be considered for an inclusion in the list, we had to fill out a detailed survey, the information from which would be used in the future decision about hosting companies to be listed on the page. We did answer all the questions and now, months later, we received a confirmation email that SiteGround has been selected for the recommended list.
From the confirmation email we were also informed that the hosts listed there will be regularly reviewed, there are no guarantees for any future placement, and there’s no compensation accepted. We were also informed that we were chosen based on a comprehensive look at all of the options available, including service monitoring and “secret shopper” interactions with our support over the past couple of months. The purpose of this page according to the email is to help users actually get a quality hosting service.
What’s next?
Needless to say, we intend to continue keeping up the level of our service, and developing our WordPress product to always include the most innovative and smart technologies and conveniences for our WordPress users.

I had a client on a "Managed WordPress" service with GoDaddy. We launched the site and all his emails stopped working from the website. When contacted, GoDaddy said it was our theme/WooCommerce (even though it worked perfectly in dev). I recommended the client migrate to SiteGround and viola, everything worked perfectly without issue, right away. And the site was 10X faster on your $6.95/month plan than their $30/month "hosting". Very deserved. I've been with Heart Internet for several years, Inmotion Hosting for a month and BlueHost for a month or so. SiteGround is literally a 1000 times better than all of these combined. It makes all other competition in this price bracket look like children and customer services is unparalleled. Best CS I have ever encountered. I'm still unsure though why Bluehost is still in the WordPress recommended list. I spent over a month with them. It was like visiting in a mental institute. I can not believe a company like that can even exist and really unsure why WordPress is still recommending them. Clearly they have not tried it out recently! I hope SiteGround can stay as good as it is now and not sufferer the corporate mutilation success can bring, swapping a good business model for aggressive profit saving techniques and manipulative advertising. It's for this very reason I left Heart Internet, which was once the best products around, but after being bought out by a multi-conglomerate, it became unbearable.

Congratulations to SiteGround -- an outstandingly good hosting provider. And congratulations to SiteGround customers (including me:) for being so smart as to have found the SG oasis of reliable infrastructure and great support. Currently I'm "only" using SG for email hosting. As boring as that may seem. I am thrilled with the SG POP3 and SMTP services that just always work flawlessly. After some more or less bad experiences with other hosting providers, I almost wept with joy when I discovered SG's oh-so-excellent support staff. I do plan to begin using SG for website hosting as well as for email hosting, so this latest news about SG's designation as a recommended WordPress hosting provider, only increases my comfort with SG.
