Introducing SiteGround Site Builder: A Simpler, Faster Way to Build Websites
Table of Contents
For two decades, we’ve been privileged to be part of your online journey, providing fast, secure, best-in-class hosting for millions of websites built with your own code or using popular CMS like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and more. Through countless conversations with clients like you, we’ve learned about your challenges, celebrated your success, and understood your aspirations to create and manage your online presence.
Today, we’re excited to introduce something special – our very own SiteGround Site Builder, now included in all of our hosting plans. For us, this isn’t just a new project launch. It’s our response to all of those conversations we’ve had over the years, and our commitment to make your online presence an absolute success.
Why Launch A Site Builder
Every day, we witness the passion you bring to your businesses and projects. But we’ve also seen how technical complexities can stand in the way of your vision. We’ve heard from small business owners spending precious weekends configuring third-party themes for their CMS website, freelancers juggling multiple tools for different clients, and entrepreneurs delaying their dreams because website creation seemed too daunting.
Your stories inspired us to create something different. Something that would maintain the professional quality you deserve while removing the technical barriers that slow you down.
The Problems We’re Solving Together
We believe in products that solve real problems of real people, so we’ve focused on addressing the key challenges you’ve shared with us:
Complexity
Remember the last time you stared at a file manager or content management dashboard wondering where to start? Or spent hours trying to make a theme look like its demo? We believe creating a website should be intuitive and enjoyable. With our Site Builder, you’ll find familiar tools that work exactly as you’d expect – if you can use a doc file, you can build a beautiful website.
Time
We know you can’t afford to spend weeks learning new tools or fighting with technology. What used to be a multi-day project can now be accomplished in a single afternoon. Choose a template, customize it with your content, and launch your site – all before your coffee gets cold. Because your time is better spent growing your business, not building a website.
Technical Barriers
“But I’m not technical enough” – we’ve heard this too many times from talented entrepreneurs whose websites don’t reflect their expertise. SiteGround Site Builder handles all the complex details behind the scenes: mobile responsiveness, built-in SEO, performance optimization, and security considerations. You focus on your message and design, while we ensure everything works flawlessly behind the scenes.
Cost
Building a professional website traditionally means choosing between two costly options: hire a web developer to build and manage your site, or invest countless hours learning complex tools yourself. This should not be the case. Our Site Builder is available for free in every hosting plan, giving you the power to create professional websites without the professional price tag. If you have an unused site slot in any of your hosting packages, you can try it out right away.
Built For You, Growing For Everyone
The first version of the SiteGround Site Builder is built for our core users – business owners who want to create a simple, yet professional website without complexity. We have tons of features and functionalities in the pipeline to add to this experience and also cater to the needs of agencies, freelancers and professionals creating and managing websites for others. Every new item in our roadmap serves one goal – to help you create and manage a polished web presence that reflects your professionalism, while focusing on what matters most – running your business and serving your clients.
Everything You Need To Succeed
Our Site Builder comes packed with the essential tools that you’ve been asking for. Just The Beginning
Today marks an exciting new chapter in our journey together. While we’re proud of what we’ve built, we know that this is just the beginning. We believe that the best products are built through collaboration with the people who use them every day. That’s why we’re starting with a simple, yet solid foundation, while keeping the flexibility to grow and evolve based on your feedback. Every new feature we add will be driven by your real experience and suggestions to make the SiteGround Site Builder even better for you.

Hi there, after trying to fit a square peg in a round whole with various wordpress themes, I am keen to try your new web builder. Can you tell me what the impact is on speed compared to other web builders please? I have used Elementor, and although it is lovely to use, it does slow things down considerabley. I would like to hear what your builder compares to and can I just start using it with a new project if I have hosting with you.
Mila Kanazirska Siteground Team
Hi Sharon, thank you for your great question! To start a new website using our SiteGround Site Builder, simply go to your Client Area > Websites. If you’re on the StartUp package, keep in mind that it only supports one site, so you’d need to delete your current site to start fresh. However, if you’re on a higher plan (like GrowBig or GoGeek), you can create unlimited websites and add a new one anytime. As for speed, we’re confident you’ll be happy with the performance. Our Site Builder is designed to be simple, user-friendly, and optimized specifically for our hosting platform. While extra addons can sometimes slow things down, the Site Builder avoids that complexity. We’d definitely recommend giving it a try and enjoying the experience!

Is it possible to use Siteground Site Builder on a current site hosted by SiteGround, like in the Staging area for a Wordpress site? I'm wanting to redesign my current site, but it looks like it wants a new domain name.
Mila Kanazirska Siteground Team
Good question! To use the SiteGround Site Builder, you need to set up a new separate site from your Client Area > Websites. If your hosting account allows for multiple sites, this won’t be an issue. You can start by choosing a temporary domain name while you work on the site. Later, you can change the domain name to your actual one. Our team can assist you with that process, if needed.
Richard Frisbie
Hello Mila and thanks. Kim's question was my question. I've already built a new site (Thank you so much for providing this great tool!) but did not see how to change my new temp site to my primary domain. And once I've done that I'm going to use your new tool to rebuild my other site, so your help will be doubly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Ivan Naidenov Siteground Team
We found your account, Richard. Excellent job with the new site design. You can go to Websites and first rename the existing site to something like 1yoursite.com by selecting Actions > Change Primary Domain. Then you can use the yoursite.com domain for the SiteGround Site Builder. We see that you also have emails associated with the existing domain. That's why we suggest contacting our team via the Help Center to assist with a seamless transition.

My client (https://seasideattorneys.com) has been a SG customer for a number of years and we are interested in converting their WP site to the new SG Site Builder. They currently have SG StartUp Hosting account. This article states that "The SiteGround Site Builder is available for free in any of our hosting plans." Yet when we attempt to explore the new site builder setup we receive an error message: "There are no available website slots on any of your plans. Please select a plan to upgrade". The plan they are on is very suitable for their online "brochure" site promoting their law offices. Is the upgrade requirement an oversight or will they be expected to upgrade? Thank you very much.
Mila Kanazirska Siteground Team
Hello Richard, the SiteGround Site Builder can be used for free when you set up a new site from your Client Area > Websites. For this purpose, your hosting plan should support multiple sites, as the new site will count toward the total number of allowed websites. Unfortunately, the StartUp plan only allows for a single site to be hosted, meaning you cannot create a new one without removing the existing site. To set up a site with the Site Builder, you would need to delete the current site and start fresh. Alternatively, you can temporarily upgrade to the GrowBig plan, which allows multiple sites to be hosted. Once your new site is ready to replace the old one, you can downgrade your plan again. If you need assistance, feel free to reach out to our support team for help.
Mia
Can I use with WooCommerce with the Site Builder tool?
Ivan Naidenov Siteground Team
Hello Mia! Right now, our SiteGround Site Builder does not support e-commerce functionality, including WooCommerce. We’re actively listening to client feedback as it plays a vital role in guiding our decisions for the Site Builder’s exciting future development. Your request has been noted, appreciate it!
Richard
If we upgrade to the GrowBig plan, how would we go about asking for a downgrade without having to pay for a support ticket? Thank you again.
Richard
Hello. I found the instructions regarding downgrading the account if needed. I would still like to know if "deleting" the current site also deletes the DNS Records, etc. We'd rather not start all over again. Thank you vey much.
Ivan Naidenov Siteground Team
Hello Richard! We'll use this opportunity to reply to both comments. There is no additional cost associated with the process of downgrading a GrowBig plan. Even if you cancel a hosting plan or delete a site/Site Tools, all of the DNS records that have been added to the domain’s DNS zone before that will be preserved. You can manage them in Services > Domains > Settings for the domain in question. This has been a deliberate decision on our part after listening to client feedback, and hopefully, it has made things easier.
Richard
Excellent! Thank you for the quick reply and all of your hard work. This will indeed keep my client's loyalty with Cj SiteGround. Cheers!
cassie
i cant even work out how to get there. i picked temporary domain but when i go to it there is nothing about a site builder in there. The link above to the site builder is just a blank page.
Ivan Naidenov Siteground Team
Hello Cassie, great question! If you want to install the Site Builder on a temporary domain, you can do so only when creating a new website. Go to Websites > New Website > Temporary Domain > Start New Website > SiteGround Site Builder, and within minutes, you'll be building a brand-new project. Currently, it is not possible to install the Site Builder on an existing temporary domain. You can delete it if it’s not in use. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to our team via the Help Center. We’re available 24/7 and ready to assist!
Jay
Hi, i want to sell pdf files with content, is that possible with this SG website?
Ivan Naidenov Siteground Team
Hi, Jay. Currently, our SiteGround Site Builder does not support e-commerce functionality, including the ability to sell PDF files. We are actively working on adding e-commerce features, along with other enhancements. For context, our team has already rolled out over 25 new improvements and features since the beginning of February alone. Your feedback helps us prioritize what to build next, so stay tuned for updates!
Richard
Hello, I now have my site in Weebly but not happy with it. Can I transfer it or do I need to build it in your site builder?
Ivan Naidenov Siteground Team
Thank you for the question, Richard! While a direct transfer from Weebly isn’t possible, you can rebuild your site with the SiteGround Site Builder. Our team is here to help if you have questions regarding the transition.
Paddy
Is it possible to add PHP coding functionality within this? With the WordPress sites for example you also had access to file manager to upload logic and functional content alongside your simpler pages. Is this in the pipeline if not already available?
Mila Kanazirska Siteground Team
Thank you for your feedback about our Site Builder! We designed it as a custom tool specifically for SiteGround to be a simple, no-code solution, helping users create websites without technical barriers. This is why it doesn’t currently support PHP coding or file manager access. However, we truly appreciate your suggestion and will consider it as we plan future updates to balance simplicity and flexibility. For more advanced functionality, indeed WordPress offers full access to file management and custom coding, leveraging its open-source nature. Thank you again for the suggestion and for being part of the SiteGround community!
Eddie
Hi My existing wordpress site has a blog page and a page for reviews about my business. How would you set these up in your new Sitebuilder. Thanks
Ivan Naidenov Siteground Team
Hello Eddie. We reviewed your website, thanks for the example. At the moment the SiteGround Site Builder does not support a dynamic blog. That means you can insert a suitable section with the builder and add links to the blog articles. After that you can manually update the section with new posts as needed. Reviews can also be added in a similar way as there is no direct integration with a third-party service like Google Reviews on your live site. Your suggestions are invaluable to us as we're actively collecting client feedback to guide us in adding new features. Stay tuned for updates, we're just getting started with the Site Builder. Reach us from the Help Center if there are any specific questions. Thanks!
Ross
Hi team! Nice to see a feature that can help smaller businesses, sole traders or be used for less demanding purposes like hobby-related websites. I assume you're planning to build upon the foundation created here so far? If so, I would throw in my 2 cents and suggest there's a viable user demographic who want something simpler than Wordpress and don't need to customise everything down to the level of detail needed to create a functioning site without getting stuck. The current Site Builder is very similar to the experience I had when I tested Siimply. Their business name is very apt, they do keep it simple but that ended up being at the detriment of my patronage. I think a site builder with more customisation and access to certain plugins will be a successful middle-ground. Site Builder feels limiting for too many use-cases even for small businesses where they might need an ecommerce plugin etc
Ivan Naidenov Siteground Team
You're absolutely right and what you're seeing now is just the beginning of what our Site Builder will become. Our goal is exactly as you described: to empower individuals and businesses to quickly and easily build their projects without drowning in a sea of endless options that may not be necessary for everyone. Our dedicated development team is hard at work on releasing new improvements and features. While we can not provide you with an exact ETA, we are definitely considering adding an ecom functionality in the future. We're carefully listening to our clients' needs and appreciate your honest input.
Marla G
Hi Ivan!!! I realize you cannot provide an exact ETA for the next version update - I was wondering, does it sound like it might be months or more than a year? I have a Grow Big and a Go Geek plan that renews soon :). Thank you for all of your help!
Ivan Naidenov Siteground Team
In the past few days our team has released two version updates bringing new features and stability improvements. Things are very dynamic as user feeedback and usage statistics continue to inform our roadmap for upcoming releases. That's why we don't want to mislead you and offer any ETA. We'll keep everyone posted on the progress of the Site Builder. Around renewal time you're welcome to reach our team if you'd like us to assist with that, we'll be happy to make sure you're using the right SiteGround services for your projects and goals.

Is it possible to add elements like ifames into sections with the new sitebuilder?
Ivan Naidenov Siteground Team
Appreciate your interest in our Site Builder. At the moment, embedding iframe elements directly into a site created with the builder isn’t supported. However, you can still add specific elements and link them to external resources as needed. We truly value feedback like yours, and we’ll be forwarding your suggestion to our development team for consideration in future updates.
Michael
Hi, I am managing 100+ sites at you. Started using the new builder. It is great for simple sites. However I need Zapier webhook and iframe embed function for several services. I do not see any html or code insert in the predefined elements, nor webhook for the form you provide. Thanx
Ivan Naidenov Siteground Team
Appreciate the suggestions, excellent to hear you gave it a try. You are right, the builder is focused on simplicity and ease of use but your suggestions have been noted. We're actively collecting feedback to help our devs consider new functionalities that are in demand.

I'm using Site Builder now for a temporary site. I've edited the contact form to use the actual email address I want mesages/feedback to be sent to. But when clicking on the "Contact Us" button after filling in the form, it shows the following message:- pe195478711296.web-platform.net says error Should the contact form actually work even on the temporary website?
Ivan Naidenov Siteground Team
It appears that right now you have enabled the “Coming Soon” mode and the actual site is not published. When you put the site online the "Contact Us" button will work. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, this gives us food for thought. Reach us from the Help Center in case you have further questions, we'll be happy to check.
Don
Is there a video or Demo of SiteGround Site Builder? It would be nice to see the platform in advance.
Ivan Naidenov Siteground Team
The suggestions are great, Don. In fact, our team is working on both a demo and a more detailed video to showcase the builder. Things are very dynamic, and we are not able to provide an exact ETA as we don't want to mislead you. Still, if you don't have an account yet, you can create one risk-free. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee so you have plenty of time to test. If you have more questions, you're welcome to contact our team.
