What Is Managed PHP Service and How to Enable It?

This service is enabled by default for all new accounts activated on our platform, but clients may switch it OFF and ON per site from Site Tools.
How to enable Managed PHP service?
To check if your Managed PHP is enabled, enter your SiteGround hosting account and go to the Websites tab. Choose the website for which you want to activate it and click on the Site Tools button.
Once you are in Site Tools, go to Devs > PHP Manager and click on the pencil icon “Change PHP version.”
If your website is already using Managed PHP service, a lightbox with preselected “Managed PHP” setting will appear.
If your site is not using the Managed PHP service, you will see “Change PHP Version Manually” setting in the lightbox, which you can click and change to “Managed PHP”. Once you make a new selection, don’t forget to click on the Confirm button.
What is Manual PHP Versions Management
It is also possible for you to manually choose the PHP version of your site. If you do that, your PHP version will not be automatically updated by us.
To check PHP management settings that apply for your site, go to Site Tools > Devs > PHP Manager > PHP Version. You will see an info box about what is your site current state.
To edit the current PHP version management use the pencil icon in the PHP version tab.
